EVENTS:

1838: Colonel Pottinger, Political Agent of the East India Company Government, in Sindh, approaches Munshi Jethananad, an influential Court-man and officer of Mirs of Hyderabad to help him to request Mir Sher Muhammad of Mirpurkhas either he will like to have a separate Treaty or, will sign the joint Treaty with Mirs of Hyderabad. He also wants to inform Mir Sher Muhammad that Dhoolaji, brother of Jagatsing of Nagarparkar has been seized and would be sent to Hyderabad, if Mir Noor Muhammad desires so. This may kindly be kept in mind that Dhoolaji was wanted for his criminal activities.

1948: Political Agent of Cutch requests the Sindh Commissioner for demarcation and approval of boundary between Sindh and Marwar.

1942: All-India Congress Committee in its resolution says that it can not agree any proposal which aims at disintegrating India by giving liberty to any territorial unit to secede from Indian Union or Federation.

1970: Pakistan and Turkey decide to establish a joint trade Commission to further develop trade between both countries.

1994: Karachi violence toll rises to rises to 20. MQM-sponsored strike enters third day. Troops called out.
