Ghulam Muhammad, the Governor - General, dissolves the Constituent
Assembly. Muhammad Ali Bogra is appointed Prime Minister of Pakistan,
who is sworn in to head 8 - member cabinet.
1957:
During a meeting with Malik Feroz Khan Noon, U.S Secretary of state,
assures him that U.S.A would support Pakistan if it were ever attacked.
(The assurance indicates the pressure for bringing changes in foreign
policy with special reference to U.S.S.R and India)
1958:
President Iskandar Mirza constitutes a 12 - man Central Cabinet with
Ayub Khan as Prime Minister. Z.A.Bhutto is also included as the
minister.
1996: Eleven policemen are arrested in Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case.
