Today, ‘Shri Barhma Khastri Sahitya Mandli’ is established in Karachi. Seth Naraindas Variram Chapter, Dr.Narsidas Pitambardas Sodho; Jamnadas Vilabhdas Sadani; Rochiram Gangaram Sadani; Maniklal Maghomal Jethmilani and Pahlajrai Haromal are its founder members. This may kindly be noted that Rochiram Sadani was an outstanding writer and it was his initiate to form NGO of this type. (Source: Annual Report of the Mandli). 1926: All-India Cow Conference is held in Calcutta in which Government is urged to regulate salaughter og cattle by legislation. (Source: The Indian Annual Register, Vol-11,1926). 1931: The Bengal Provincial Hindu Conference held at Burdwan under presidency of Mahraj Srish Chandra Nundy of Kasimabad passes the resolution on the issue of separation of Sindh from Bombay Presidency. The text of the resolution is :’ The question is utter disregard of determined opposition of the Hindus of Sindh who will have to bear a large proportion of the inevitable increased taxation in relation to their population, as compared with Moslems of Sindh’.(Source: The Daily Gazette, Karachi). 1932: Prof. J.S.Kriplani of Sindh and Director of the Gandhi Ashram is sentenced to six months’ imprisonment under Section 17 (A) of the Criminal Law Amendment Act. He will be placed in ‘A’ class. (Source: The Indian Annual Register, Vol-11,1932). 1935: The Daily Al-Wahid of Karachi in the course of its editorial criticizes G.M.Syed and other leaders for not taking interest in enrolment of peasants as qualified voters. The editorial blames that leaders of upper class formed HARI COMMITTEE a few years ago for protection of their own interests, where as they have nothing to do with welfare of working class. It is time to create vote-bank of this lower class, but our leaders are now avoiding and depriving lower class of their Right of vote. (Source: The Daily Al-Wahid, Karachi). 1936: Indian States Peoples’ Conference is held at Karachi and attitude of subjects of States was discussed and defined. (Source: The Indian Annual Register,Vol-11,1936) 1939: Sj. Subash Chandra Bose deploring the policy of Congress says that ‘ a wave of intolerance is now sweeping over higher ranks of Congress leadership. The slightest criticism of any action of their throws them into a rage and the whole machinery of propaganda in their hands is at once put in operation. In this way the ordinary Congressman is terrorized into silence’. (Source; The Indian Register, Vol-11,1939). 1947: First Special train reaches Karachi. It is beginning of the greatest migration of Indian Muslims to Sindh and wave continued after reaching of Biharis in 1972 and onward. (Source: Newspapers). 1948: By virtue of promulgation of an ordinance, clause 92 A is added in the interim Constitution of Pakistan that empowers Governor-General to dissolve any provincial government.(Source: Newspapers). This may kindly be noted that very drastic decisions are taken when Quaid-i-Azam is in Ziyarat and health is in serious condition. 1955: Government of Pakistan files a petition praying for special leave to appeal against the judgment of a Full Bench of Lahore High court in the habes corpus petitions filed on behalf of ex-Major General Akbar Khan and other Rawalpindi Conspiracy Case prisoners including Faiz Ahmad Faiz. (Source: Newspapers). 1993: Entire political setup in the Pakistan is changed. Assemblies are dissolved. President Ishaq and Prime Minister Nawaz quit their offices. World Bank Vice President Moeen Qureshi is sworn in as care taker Prime Minister. National Assembly polls will be on 6th of October and Provincial Assemblies polls are due on 9th October.(Source: ibid) EVENTS FROM SINDH HISTORY (18th July) By: Dr. Pathan ** 1914ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي ڪراچي ۾ شري برهما کاستري ساهتيا منڊلي جو قيام عمل ۾ آندو ويو، سيٺ نارائڻ داس وليرام، ڊاڪٽر نرسيداس پيتمبرداس سوڍو، جامنداس ولڀداس ساڌاڻي، روچيرام گهنگهارام ساڌاڻي، پهلاج راءِ هارومل ۽ مانڪ لال مگهومل ڄيٺملاڻي هن سماجي تنظيم جا باني ميمبر هئا، واضح رهي ته روچيرام ساڌاڻي پنهنجي دور جو وڏو ليکڪ هو، هن اهڙي قسم جي سماجي تنظيم قائم ڪرڻ ۾ وڏو ڪردار ادا ڪيو. ** 1932ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي سنڌ سان تعلق رکندڙ پروفيسر جي ايس ڪرپلاڻي، جيڪو گانڌي آشرم جو ڊائريڪٽر پڻ هو، کي ڪرمنل لا ترميمي ايڪٽ تحت 6 مهينا سخت پورهئي سان سزا ٻڌائي وئي. ** 1935ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي ڪراچي مان شايع ٿيندڙ اخبار الوحيد پنهنجن مسلسل لکيل ايڊيٽوريلز ۾ جي ايم سيد ۽ ٻين اڳواڻن طرفان هارين جا ووٽ داخل نه ڪرائڻ واري معاملي تي تنقيد ڪئي، اخبار لکيو ته انهن اپر ڪلاس جي اڳواڻن ڪجهه سال اڳ هاري ڪاميٽي صرف پنهنجن مفادن جي تحفظ لاءِ ٺاهي هئي، اهي هاري ۽ پورهيت طبقي جي ڀلائي نٿا چاهين، هن وقت ضرورت ان ڳالهه جي آهي ته لوئر ڪلاس جي غريب ماڻهن جو ووٽ بينڪ ٺاهيو وڃي. ** 1947ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي پهرين اسپيشل ٽرين هندستان مان پناهگيرن کي کڻي ڪراچي پهتي، اها هندستان مان سنڌ ڏانهن وڏي هجرت جي شروعات هئي، ان کانپوءِ وڏي تعداد ۾ ماڻهو سنڌ ۾ داخل ٿيا. ** 1948ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي سرڪار هڪ آرڊيننس جاري ڪيو ته پاڪستان جو عبوري آئين گورنر جنرل کي اهي اختيار ڏئي ٿو ته هو ڪنهن به صوبائي حڪومت کي برطرف ڪري سگهي ٿو، واضح رهي ته اهو آرڊيننس ان وقت جاري ٿيو جڏهن قائداعظم زيارت ۾ بيمار پيل هو ۽ هن جي طبيعت ڏاڍي خراب هئي. ** 1955ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي وفاقي حڪومت لاهور هاءِ ڪورٽ جي فل بئنچ جي ڏنل فيصلي خلاف نظرثاني درخواست سپريم ڪورٽ ۾ داخل ڪئي، لاهور هاءِ ڪورٽ راولپنڊي سازش ڪيس ۾ فيصلو ٻڌايو هو. ** 1993ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي ملڪ جو سياسي سيٽ اپ تبديل ٿي ويو، اسيمبليون برطرف ڪيون ويون، صدر اسحاق خان ۽ وزيراعظم نواز شريف استعيفيٰ ڏئي ڇڏي، جنهن بعد عالمي بينڪ جي صدر معين قريشي کي گهرائي نگران وزيراعظم بڻايو ويو ۽ اعلان ڪيو ويو ته قومي اسيمبلي جون چونڊون 6 آڪٽوبر ۽ صوبائي اسيمبلين جون چونڊون 9 آڪٽوبر تي ڪرايون وينديون، نگران وزيراعظم معين قريشي عهدو سنڀاليندي ئي ملڪ ۾ نوان سڌارا آڻڻ جو اعلان ڪيو، هن وي آءِ پي پروٽوڪول کي واپس ڪندي عام ماڻهن وانگر بسن ۾ سفر ڪيو ۽ سڀني وزيرن کي به اها صلاح ڏني، هو وي آءِ پي ڪلچر جي خاتمي جو حامي هو پر هن جي ڪوششن باوجود وي آءِ پي ڪلچر ختم نه ٿيو. *********** اڄوڪي ڏينهن 18 جولاءِ تي جنم وٺندڙ ۽ وڇڙندڙ مشهور شخصيتون جنم ڏينهن: 18 جولاءِ 1911ع سياستدان آغا غلام نبي پٺاڻ(سلطان ڪوٽ) جي پيدائش جو ڏينهن آهي. 18 جولاءِ 1927ع شهنشاهه غزل مهدي حسنجي پيدائش جو ڏينهن آهي. 18 جولاءِ 1936ع سياسي اڳواڻ عبداللطيف ميمڻ (پير ڳوٺ) جي پيدائش جو ڏينهن آهي. 18 جولاءِ 1945ع شاعر ۽ ليکڪ الهجڙيو شاد(جهڏو) جو جنم ڏينهن آهي. 18 جولاءِ 1948ع گلوڪار نانڪ چاولا (الهاسنگر) جي پيدائش جو ڏينهن آهي. 18 جولاءِ 1953ع شاعر برڪت بلوچ جو جنم ڏينهن آهي. 18 جولاءِ 1982ع باليووڊ اداڪاره پريانڪا چوپڙاجو جنم ڏينهن آهي. وڇوڙو: 18 جولاءِ 1967ع مذهبي عالم مولانا محمد علي شاهه جو لاڏاڻو ٿيو. 18 جولاءِ 1885ع قائد عوام ذوالفقار علي ڀٽو جي فرزند شاهنواز ڀٽوکي فرانس ۾ زهر ڏئي شهيد ڪيو ويو. 18 جولاءِ 2007ع شاعر مشتاق ڀرڳڙي جو انتقال ٿيو. 18 جولاءِ 2012ع باليووڊ اداڪار راجيش کنا ديهانت ڪري ويو

What has happened to our hearts and minds? ] ساریان ته بہ سپرین نہ ٿا سارین، ورھین کان ایئن اسان کي وسارین، اسان طلبیون من جئ کي جیارین، پنھنجي دل جي نیٹن سان نھارین، امرت سونھن سندو ھو شل پیارین، پر نہ ٿا جیئارن پر جدائئ ۾ مارین، گھنگھر گھارین، تن من روح اسان جو.‏‎ ‎ ********** EVENTS FROM SINDH HISTORY (16th July) By: Dr. Pathan ** 1857ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي سنڌ جي ڪمشنر سپرنٽينڊنگ سرجن کي هدايت جاري ڪئي ته حب نديءَ جي ويجهو علائقي لکڻ جو جائزو وٺي ان جي سينيٽيريم فٽنيس رپورٽ موڪلي وڃي، بعد ۾ سپرنٽينڊنگ سرجن ڊاڪٽر هنٽر پنهنجي رپورٽ ڪمشنر وٽ جمع ڪرائي. ** 1901ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي انگريز سرڪار پاران بمبئي روينيو ڪوڊ جي قلم 7 تحت نوٽيفڪيشن جاري ڪري لاڙڪاڻو ضلعو قائم ڪيو ويو، نوٽيفڪيشن تي بمبئي حڪومت جي چيف سيڪريٽري جي وي پي ميڪنزي جي صحيح ٿيل هئي. ** 1919ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي انگريز وائسراءِ پنهنجي اتحادين جي هڪ تقريب ڪوٺائي، جنهن ۾ لاڙڪاڻي جي پنڊت پنچنداس شيوالا ۽ شهدادپور جي پيرو مل شرڪت ڪئي ۽ بمبئي حڪومت کي مبارڪباد ڏني. ** 1921ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي حيدرآباد ضلعي جي ڪانگريس ڪاميٽي ضلعي جي مختلف اسڪولن جي شاگردن کان اسڪالر شپ لاءِ درخواستون گهرائي ورتيون، ڪانگريس ڪاميٽي طرفان ڄاڻايو ويو ته ٽن شاگردن کي في شاگرد 15 رپيا ڏنا ويندا ته جيئن اهي عليڳڙهه يونيورسٽي ۽ گجرات وديا پٿ ۾ تعليم حاصل ڪري سگهن. ** 1943ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي سنڌ ۾ مسلم ليگ جي سڏ تي واپار جو ڏهاڙو ملهايو ويو، جنهن ۾ ڪيترن ئي واپارين شموليت ڪئي. ** 1946ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي سنڌ جي پي ڊبليو ڊي جي وزير محمد ايوب کهڙي ڪراچي جي ڊي جي سنڌ ڪاليج ۾ سنڌ جي سياست جي عنوان هيٺ ليڪچر ڏنو، اهو پروگرام شيخ عبدالمجيد سنڌي طرفان منعقد ڪرايو ويو هو. ** 1993ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي مخالف ڌر حڪومت خلاف لانگ مارچ ملتوي ڪري ڇڏيو، ذريعن جو چوڻ هو ته مخالف ڌر جي اڳواڻ بينظير ڀٽو اسلام آباد ۾ صدر غلام اسحاق خان ۽ آرمي چيف عبدالوحيد ڪاڪڙ سان ملاقاتون ڪرڻ بعد لانگ مارچ ملتوي ڪيو، بينظير ڀٽو کي خاطري ڪرائي وئي ته قومي اسيمبلي ٽوڙي چئني صوبن ۾ غيرجانبدار نگران حڪومتون جوڙيون وينديون، ان کانپوءِ شفاف چونڊون ٿينديون، اهڙي خاطري تي بينظير ڀٽو وزيراعظم نواز شريف خلاف لانگ مارچ تان هٿ کڻي وئي، ان کان اڳ پ پ اڳواڻ فاروق لغاري صدر غلام اسحاق خان سان ملاقات ڪئي ۽ صدر جو پيغام کڻي لاهور آيو، جتي هن بينظير ڀٽو کي صورتحال کان آگاهه ڪيو. ذريعن اهوبه چيو ته وزيراعظم نوازشريف اسيمبلي ٽوڙڻ لاءِ صدر کي ايڊوائيس موڪلڻ تي راضي ٿي ويو آهي. *********** اڄوڪي ڏينهن 16 جولاءِ تي جنم وٺندڙ ۽ وڇڙندڙ مشهور شخصيتون جنم ڏينهن: 16 جولاءِ 1909ع سياسي ورڪر لڇمنداس آريا جي پيدائش جو ڏينهن آهي. 16 جولاءِ 1932ع گلوڪاره وينا واڌواڻي (حيدرآباد) جي پيدائش جو ڏينهن آهي. 16 جولاءِ 1941ع شاعر رحيم بخش روشن جو جنم ڏينهن آهي. 16 جولاءِ 1957ع ليکڪ حافظ حفيظ سنڌي جو جنم ڏينهن آهي. 16 جولاءِ 1965ع شاعر بشير بيوس اوٺو(مٺي) جي پيدائش جو ڏينهن آهي. 16 جولاءِ 1984ع باليووڊ اداڪاره ڪترينا ڪيفجو جنم ڏينهن آهي. وڇوڙو: 16 جولاءِ 1954ع اسڪالر علامه علي خان ابڙو(سانگي) جو لاڏاڻو ٿيو. 16 جولاءِ 1956ع صحافي ۽ آزادي جي تحريڪ جي ورڪر ويرومل بيگراج جي ديهانت ٿي. 16 جولاءِ 1980ع شاعر علي محمد ساقي جي وفات ٿي. 16 جولاءِ 1994ع اسڪالر، اديب، شاعر ۽ ماهر لسانيات ڊاڪٽر الهداد ٻوهيوجو انتقال ٿيو. 16 جولاءِ 2000ع سنڌ صوبي جي اڳوڻي گورنر اشرف ڊبليو تابانيجي وفات ٿي. 16 جولاءِ 2004ع شاعر معصوم سانگهڙائيجي وفات ٿي. 16 جولاءِ 2016ع ماڊل گرل قنديل بلوچ کي ملتان ۾ قتل ڪيو ويو

(Source: Letter No.359). 1945: Sir Hugh Dow, Governor of Sindh addresses general meeting of the Sindh Scout’s Association. Thisbe kept in mind that Sindh Scout’s Association was most active Association of Sindh during the British era. It was established much before 1900 and a Journal in Sindhi & English ‘Scout’ was also published for years. In April 1939, Sea Scout Group Council was also formed with efforts of Rai Sahib Gokaldas Ahuja. (Source: ibid) SINDHI TRANSLATION OF THE POST: *********** EVENTS FROM SINDH HISTORY (13th July) By: Dr. Pathan ** 1844ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي هندستان جي گورنر جنرل سکر، شڪارپور، حيدرآباد ۽ ڪراچي ۾ تجرباتي بنيادن تي ڊسپينسريون قائم ڪرڻ جي منظوري ڏني، ان حوالي سان هن حتمي پلان ۽ ڊسپينسرين تي ايندڙ لاڳت جي حوالي سان رپورٽ پڻ طلب ڪئي.جيڪا کيس بعد ۾ موڪلي وئي. ** 1856ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي خيرپور جي ميرن کي پنهنجي جاگير جي ڳوٺن تي مالڪي جي دعويٰ جنگ جي ميدان تي آڻي بيهاريو، مير محمد خان سنڌ جي ڪمشنر سان رابطو ڪري مير علي مراد ٽالپر جي دور واري جاگير جي حدن کي بحال ڪرڻ جي گهر ڪئي، جنهن تي فيصلي جي تاريخ رکي وئي. ** 1903ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي سمورن ضلعن جي آفيسرن کي هدايت جاري ڪئي وئي ته اهي پنهنجي پنهنجي نگراني ۾ رڪارڊ کي سنڀالي رکن، ڇو ته اهو مستقبل لاءِ مستند تاريخ ۽ ڄاڻ جو ذريعو آهي. ** 1950ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي وزيراعظم لياقت علي خان ڪوريا جي دوري دوران آمريڪا جي خواهش تي ڪوريا ۾ فوج موڪلڻ بابت سوال جو جواب ڏيڻ کان انڪار ڪري ڇڏيو، ان وقت اهي خبرون رپورٽ ٿيون هيون ته پاڪستان آمريڪا جي دٻاءُ ۾ اچي پنهنجون فوجون ڪوريا موڪلي رهيو آهي. ** 1951ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي مسلم ليگ پنجاب مان 474 عهديدارن ۽ ڪارڪنن کي پارٽي مفادن خلاف ڪم ڪرڻ جو الزام هڻي نيڪالي ڏني وئي. ** 1960ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي سنڌ ۽ بلوچستان جي ٻن سينيئر سياستدانن محمد ايوب کهڙو ۽ نواب اڪبر بگٽي کي نااهل قرار ڏنو ويو. ** 1962ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي اسڪندر مرزا پنهنجي بيان ۾ چيو ته مون آمريڪي مشوري تي آئين کان مٿانهون قدم کنيو ۽ آئين کي معطل ڪيو. ** 1965ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي پرڏيهي وزير ذوالفقار علي ڀٽو چيو ته آمريڪي دٻاءُ تي عالمي بينڪ مالي سهڪار کان انڪار ڪيو آهي، تنهن ڪري اسان وٽ ان کانسواءِ ٻي واٽ ناهي ته پنهنجي پيرن تي بيهون ۽ معاشي طور مضبوط ٿيون ۽ سياسي حاڪميت حاصل ڪري طاقتور بڻجون. ** 1966ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي ويسٽ پاڪستان هاءِ ڪورٽ جي فل بئنچ مخالف ڌر جي 22 اڳواڻن کي ڊفينس آف پاڪستان قانون تحت حراست ۾ رکڻ خلاف درخواست رد ڪري ڇڏي. ** 1972ع ۾ اڄوڪي تاريخ تي تعليم جو وفاقي وزير عبدالحفيظ پيرزادي خدشو ظاهر ڪيو ته سنڌ ۾ ٻوليءَ واري معاملي جي پويان ڪنهن جا سياسي مقصد ٿي سگهن ٿا. جنهن ڪري ئي صورتحال خراب ڪئي پئي وڃي. ************* اڄوڪي ڏينهن 13 جولاءِ تي جنم وٺندڙ ۽ وڇڙندڙ مشهور شخصيتون جنم ڏينهن: 13 جولاءِ 1934ع ليکڪ گنو سامتاڻي (حيدر آباد / بمبئي) جي پيدائش جو ڏينهن آهي. 13 جولاءِ 1937ع ليکڪ سرلا ڪان آهوجا (سکي / الهاس نگر) جي پيدائش جو ڏينهن آهي. 13 جولاءِ 1951ع ليکڪ شبنم شلواڻي جو جنم ڏينهن آهي. 13 جولاءِ 1959ع شاعر ڄام جمالي (شاهبيگ جمالي) جو جنم ڏينهن آهي. 13 جولاءِ 1962ع شاعر حمز علي سوهو جو جنم ڏينهن آهي. 13 جولاءِ 1977ع ليکڪ اقبال هاليپوٽو جو جنم ڏينهن آهي. وڇوڙو: 13 جولاءِ 1913ع صحافي تولارام عاجزجي وفات ٿي. 13 جولاءِ 1978ع شاعر پياسي رانجهن خان لاڏاڻو ڪري ويو. 13 جولاءِ 1989ع شاعر ۽ ليکڪ احمد خان آصف مصراڻئ کي شهيد ڪيو ويو

(Source: Pottenger’s letter No.62). 1903: L.G. Mount ford, The Collector of the District Larkano writes to the Sindh Commissioner updating him about efforts regarding preservation of archival material at Larkano. He writes that in July 1901 the official record was shifted from Sukkur and Karachi to this newly established District. Head Munshi of the Collector is custodian of record in Sindhi language, whereas record in English is being kept under custody of Head Clerk. The correspondence on ‘Indus Valley State Railway’ has been kept in the office of the Assistant Collector of Larkano. (Source: Larkana Collector’s office letter No.3918). During tenure of Iqbal Bablani and Dr.Badar Ujan as D.C of Larkano District, Gul Hayat Institute approached District Administration to establish ‘LARKANA ARCHIVES’ there. 1925: Delhi Hindu Sabha protests against Bengal Government’s decision regarding music before Mosque. (Source: The Indian Annual Register, Vol-11,1925). 1926: Sindh Journalists’ Conference is held at Karachi and a Journalists’ Society is formed. It is first initiate to unite journalists of Sindh for taking care about press and freedom of expression. (Source: The Sindh Daily Gazette, Karachi). 1927: Moulana Muhammad Ali Johar in series of articles dislikes the Muslim agitation in Punjab demanding Justice Dalip Sing’s resignation. The judgment of the Justice Dalip Sing was taken as partial decision in case of writer who attacked Muhammad (PBUH) in his book. It is attended by eminent politicians belonging to class of Pirs and Landlords.They seems to be worried about sorrows and longings of the peasants of Sindh, but inner story is to take care of their own interests during the disposal of barrage land. 1949: Khowaja Shahab-u-ddin, federal minister for Home & Information asks Sindh Press to plat it role in bringing Sindhis and Mohajirs near to each other. (Source: Newspapers). 1952: Khowaja Naziu-u-ddin, Prime Minister of Pakistan assures the status of High court for Sindh Chief Court. (Source: ibid). 1955: Home Minister, Major-General Iskandar Mirza announces lifting of ban on political activities of Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan. Later on branches of NGO are also started inSyeat, Poona and Ahmadabad. First train was booked by Sindh Congress for Punjab so as to participate in the Congress Session and provide financial & moral support to families those were affected during the tragedy of Jalyanwala bagh. In 1938 on the eve of Sindh Provincial Muslim League Conference the Special train was hired for Quaid-i-Azam for Karachi from Hyderabad. When Soorihb Badshah Pir Pagaro was released from jail, he also reached Sindh in Special train. During Hijrat Tahrik, Jan Muhammad Junijo booked special train Khilafatis. The Special train carrying Sindhi migrants on way to Peshawar reached at Multan today. 1950: Fatima Jinnah regrets to Hilal-i-Ahmar Pakistan (Source: Newspaper). 1959: Pak-American trade agreement is signed.
